For Hobgoblin’s ‘Bringing Taste to the Nation’ tour, we took bird’s-eye-view bus plans and really pushed the van customisation in order to create a wooded immersive environment inside. To ‘bring Wychwood’ to the UK, we used leafy visuals and stock imagery I sourced to fit the van’s specifications, this required very large files and many mock up visuals. We definitely pushed the boat out to get the original blue van interior completely and seamlessly covered over – which worked really well with Dave Noonan’s exterior van illustration and branding. I initiated ‘The Manor’ sign that led to a video booth with a backdrop where people had fun recording tasting notes on Hobgoblin beers. The project also saw me design a Hobgoblin pint voucher for local venues. This was a massively enjoyable project, the opportunity to work in 3D vinyl visuals and to work with Kim Owen to work out the logistics and make the most of the opportunity to create an experience.
I also designed the Hobgoblin booklet for a marketing awards nomination event and a promo card Hobgoblin himself gave out at the Great British Beer Festival in getting the government’s budget to reduce beer tax, which they did.
